On October 9, 2012, the Gertrude Stein Democratic Club of Washington, the voice of the Democratic LGBT Community in DC, endorsed Michael D. DC for Democracy Endorses Senator Michael D. Brown for Re-election

DC for Democracy, a leading advocacy group for DC statehood, endorsed Michael D. Brown for re-election as DC Shadow Senator. In a statement Senator Brown said, "I am proud to receive the endorsement of such an important group, and I look forward to working with them in the future."

Michael Brown Wins Ward 5 Straw Poll

For the second time, Michael D. Brown won the straw poll for Shadow Senator at the Ward 5 Democrats endorsement meeting on Saturday, receiving 149 votes (55.8%).

With No Endorsement, Senator Brown Still Wins Most Votes from Democrats

The Stein Democratic Club and the Ward 3 Democrats both voted overwhelmingly for Brown. Although he did not garner sufficient votes for an endorsement, in both cases he received the most votes, missing the Stein Club endorsement by a single vote, and defeating challenger Pete Ross by more than 3 to 1 at the Ward 3 Dem's monthly meeting.
